Tree Removal

Why tree removal?

Trees play an essential role in the beautification of our gardens and our enjoyment of the natural environment. But there are times when trees become a problem, and removing them is unavoidable. We will always first explore branch removal or tree pruning as a first solution. There are also times when removing a tree is needed that has nothing to do with its health. Perhaps building and renovations are happening, or a particular tree on a property is blocking a view.

If you suspect that a tree on your property needs to be removed, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Does the tree appear to be dead (i.e. there has been no new leaf growth in a while)?
  • Does the tree show signs of disease or decay?
  • Is the tree severely damaged?
  • Is the tree encroaching on my home?
  • Is the tree leaning towards areas used by pets or family such as the driveway or play area?
  • Is the tree blocking a view or solar panels?
Removing a tree is specialised work. Our arborists on Central Coast use key equipment and have the qualifications and experience to remove trees of all shapes and sizes safely. They work with skilled, strong tree workers and machinery to ensure the safe and effective removal of trees. Here are more reasons our arborist services will benefit you:
  • They know how to manage, treat or remove specific trees because they have studied the field.
  • They have the training to implement the correct maintenance, disease management, and removal strategies based on a species’ location and needs.
  • They are covered by public liability and workers compensation insurance, giving you peace of mind.

The 5 steps of tree removal

Removing a tree safely requires careful planning and risk management. Here are the steps our arborists will take when removing your trees.

Tree Inspection. The arborist will assess the tree thoroughly to determine the impact of the cuts on the tree’s structure. They will also look for signs of decay or cracks and investigate the root system and how stable the plant is.

The removal plan. The tree height and trunk size determine the appropriate method used to remove the tree. They will either choose to climb the tree, lower to the branches on a rope or use a crane or a bucket truck.

The preparation of the site. The area around the tree and exit of the property need to be prepared and cleared so the branches can be safely and efficiently removed after cutting.

The safety gear. Safety gear will be prepared before any tree cutting begins. This will include chainsaw protection pants, a hard hat, gloves and safety glasses. Climbing spurs and the necessary saddles and harnesses will also be added. A chainsaw is clipped to the gear.

Tree climbing and harnessing. The arborist will climb the tree using the spurs and harness system.

Only once these steps have occurred will the arborist begin to cut whole branches or sections. It’s a complicated process, and you can now see why we recommend cutting trees isn’t left to DIY jobs or local handymen.
